In the first week of June 2014 I had the pleasure of being a part of the Automation Control "Try A Trade" booth at The 20th Annual Skills Canada National Competition held at the International Trade Show Centre in Toronto. There was over 500 competitors from across Canada that competed in over 40 Skilled Trades and Technology areas in construction, manufacturing, service, transportation, information technology and employability. The skills competitions are held for students at booth the secondary and post-secondary levels.
The booth consists of automated control products that were donated from Rockwell Automation. The actual interactive display is designed and assembled by Humber College School of Applied Technology Faculty to show the public an example of how the skilled trades and technology affect our day to day lives. The "Try A Trade" booth is geared towards the education and enticement of students at the senior grade school and secondary school levels to the trades. |
